The DigFindR Initiative
Currently with release Version 1, some of the primary features of DigFindR include:
- Real time cursor tracking in Geographic coordinates using decimal degree, decimal minute, or sexigesimal format
- Full realization of drawing layer control through name, color, visibility, and locking
- Support for CAD entities including polygons, polylines, arcs, ellipses, circles, lines, rectangles, text, multi-line text, arc text, blocks, special shapes, dimensions, rays, and construction lines
- World file utility for embedding aerials within the map/drawing; read/write world files for TIF and JPG formats
- Direct support for ECW (enhanced compression wavelet) images
- Direct support for JPG2000 format images
- Direct support for raster images including JPG, BMP, TIF, PNG, TGA, PSD and many others
- Utility for building grids based upon GPS decimal minute format, Foot, or user defined units
- Full edit control of entities individually, in groups, or as blocks using scale, rotate, copy, paste, mirror, break, and delete
- Complete entity information dialog for selected entity(s) which can be hidden or displayed at will
- Bounding rulers in foot increment that can be hidden or displayed at will
- Raster export of entire map, or screen extent
- Print layout
- DXF and DWG file import and export
- Utility for casting symbols into the map/drawing from delimited text list files
- Fix calculator, bearing calculator, and scale calculator
- Distance, area, and perimeter measurement on the fly
- NMEA 0183 interface for GPS
- Full utility for managing excavation attributes with sorting and selection, GOTO, and text markup on demand
- Drawing snap modes include tangent, nearest, perpendicular, midpoint, endpoint, center, node, and grid (1 foot increment)
- Mark cursor position with coordinate readout as Lat and Long
- Utility for plotting sextant fixes digitally
- Complete database interface for all dig records using a filterable table running SQLite featuring more than 140,000 records
